My furniture work serves as a method of processing my daily experience of working as an architectural designer/fabricator, both physically and philosophically. I use the materials and craft of architectural fabrication but I arrange forms impulsively within a strict set of guidelines, experimenting with color to create furniture that resists a preconceived design. This method of working allows me to break free from the careful planning of architectural design while still using the techniques, my aim being to create highly finished furniture/architectural objects that quietly mock human obsession with order.
The work shown here is currently available for purchase from me directly except for Chair 3, which can be found at store.huskdesignblog.com , and Barbour Desk and Chair 5 which reside in a private collections.
